Since making Cederberg their home in 1893, the Nieuwoudt family have cultivated and protected the unforgiving, but beautiful Cederberg region. The idea for the new label was to design a crest that represents the history of the five generations of Nieuwoudts that have lived in the Cederberg. Our designers at Haumann Smal write about the new design:
“Few other South African wine brands are so closely associated with its environment. Ever since the design of the first iconic “Cederberg” label, it has been the goal to honour and reflect the spirit of the Cederberg Mountains. Over the past two decades, Haumann Smal and Cederberg Private Cellar have built an amazing partnership. These years of true friendship have led to the design of a new ‘Five Generations’ crest that continues to truthfully reflect the soul of the Cederberg.”
