We decided to ‘make the Circle bigger’ so the Cederberg winemaking team left our mountains and joined our members in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria to celebrate the end of a bumper harvest 2022, share our wonderful wines (including tank samples, new releases and special vintages) and get to know one another better.
On a wind-still autumn evening aboard a yacht in Cape Town we set sail on the very ocean that influences our Ghost Corner wines. Table Mountain and the Mother City receded into the distance as we sailed off into the sunset to taste wine, nibble on delicious snacks and chat the evening away. Way too soon we were berthing back at the Waterfront, having created some unforgettable memories and made a few new friends.
Then it was off to Jo’burg where the sky was the limit – literally, as the venue was the highest rooftop bar in Sandton. As the sun set over the spectacular urban landscape of the City of Gold, we reflected on the wines accompanied by tasty tapas and shot the breeze with our Circle members.
We rounded off our April meet ups in Pretoria at a brand-new Greek restaurant in the trendy suburb of Menlyn, where we met up with friends and family who are members of The Cederberg Circle. A festive time was had by all as we feasted on tapas, sipped wine and made merry. A good few plates were broken along the way, as is the tradition!
